A Swell Place for Great Live Comedy in Orlando – Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows

The Orlando Comedy scene has become quite expansive. As locals begin to realize that Orlando has one of the strongest live stand up comedy scenes in the South, more and more people are coming out to see live and hyper-local acts. The Orlando Comedy Festival at Sleuths had a healthy start with a lot of great local and some national acts.

Over the next few weeks, I will discuss in detail the slew of new comedy show venues on the scene. For starters, however, I would like to thank a great location for Comedy Shows In Orlando, Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows located at 8267 International Drive (the heart of tourist central for Orlando). This comedy venue is committed to bringing local talent to the forefront with Kevin White’s Stand up Spotlight featuring Central Florida’ brightest up and coming stand up comedians. There is also Orlando Longest Running Improv Show, Todd Feren’s Mama’s Comedy Show.

Mama’s Comedy Show is every Friday Night at 10pm and its only $10 ($5 if you attend Sleuths Mystery and Comedy Dinner Show)

Stand Up Spotlight is every Saturday Night at 10pm and its only $5.

The dinner shows happen every night at 7:30pm and they have 11 currently in rotation.

The event space at Sleuths is also incredible and available to rent for a variety of events. In the past they have held blogger and city development conferences.

This is why they were the ideal venue to produce and host the 1st Orlando Comedy Festival this past September 29th – October 2nd, 2011. They are gearing up for their second Orlando Comedy Festival in the Fall of 2012. Details will be on this blog soon.

If you have any questions about Sleuths regarding their array of comedy and magic shows in Orlando or to plan an event of your own in one of their beautiful spaces, call them at (407) 363-1985 or (800) 393-1985

2011 off to a Rocking Start for Central Florida Comedy

The Orlando Improv started a new open mic every Sunday night at 9pm. The Fox and Hounds Pub now has an open mic every wednesday evening at 9pm. Jersey Hotcomic aka “The Haitian Sensation” hosts an open mic in downtown Orlando at Vain and Carmen Vallone runs an open mic for Bonkerz on East Colonial Drive at Boardwalk Bowling also on Wednesday so there is no excuse not to get out to one of them. Why not make your mistakes in Kissimmee and then bring a more polished set to Bonkerz and Vain?

The Tampa Area Comedy Scene is coming to Orlando a lot more frequently. We now have a show the last Sunday of every month at the DAV Outpost in Kissimmee.

This Friday and Saturday (1-14 – 1-15 ) Dean Napolitano headlines at the new Bonkerz room in downtown Orlando at Mojo’s Bar and Grill. After wrapping up Transformers 3 on the Space Coast, he is coming to town for 2 nights. Check out http://bonkerzcomedy.com/index.cfm.

It’s a nice new site and you can also check out their new room at Metro West which is doing really well.

Amy Shumer is bringing the funny to http://theimprovorlando.com/ with host Darren Moore from Today – Sunday….

The show at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Theater on Saturday is going to be great with Duncan Jay, Frank Alfano Jr. hosted by Lisa Applegate with a special guest spot by co host and co producer of The Buckethead Show on Real Radio 104.1fm (11am -3pm) “Bull” aka Bryan Sklover.

reserve your tickets for one of these fine shows.

Also please support the new initiative started by The BS on Real Radio to legalize gambling in Orlando. We need the money and the jobs (Hard Rock in Tampa brings in 150 million in Taxes for the state and provides thousands of jobs). Central Florida Stand Up will soon be airing on http://IzonOrlando.com and we are getting ready to do raise money for some great causes and charities with the help of some great Central Florida Comedians, organizations and people.
